TeleMagic Field-Based Help
Need to help new users get 'on board' faster? Need to train remote users?
Provide help on critical database fields? This field-based Help can be provided
on all fields, or just specific fields. It can be provided on any level.
It has been developed so the supervisor has been authorized to enter
the help information, no limit on the number of characters.
When a user modifies or adds data on the screen, a help message can be
automatically displayed on the screen. Once the user is familiar with the
database fields, the Help can be turned off.
TeleMagic - AccPac Quotation Interface
Enter information once! Prepare quotations in TeleMagic using the inventory
information maintained in the AccPac application.
To enhance performance, it builds an inventory table
in TeleMagic and the user can specify how frequently the table should be
updated with price changes etc. i.e. every 24 hours.
The table contains item number; description; cost price; units i.e. each,
package; previous cost price; the date the item was last updated. When making
the quote in TeleMagic, the margin percentage is specified and then the
retail price is automatically calculated. A summary screen shows all the
quotes that exist for the customer.
Once the quotation is prepared, you can use standard TeleMagic features
to transmit the quote to the customer such as printing to mail, faxing.
TeleMagic Inbound CALL Link Interface
A telephone call coming in - is the caller already in our database? This
application looks through all three levels of the TeleMagic database for
the caller name or the caller telephone number (depending on the configuration
that has been setup) then displays the screen for the TeleMagic record that
matches the call. The CallerId option is required on the telephone line.
If more than one match is found, a browse screen will display all of
the matches. The user highlights the record he wants and presses Enter to
select that particular record.
If no match is found, the user is prompted to add a record to the database.
The caller name and/or the caller telephone number will be filled in automatically.
NPConver - after converting a TeleMagic for
DOS file, use this to quickly remove black marks and other extraneous characters
from all character and memo fields.
DateParam - need to
change the dates for filters or reports? A button is attached to the toolbar
to allow you to set date range parameters for a TeleMagic session.

Contactid problems? This program was designed to handle a number of the
common problems. First, it verifies that a 3 character system id has been
assigned. Then it handles the following contactid problems:
"Lost Records" - The program checks for records that were
created with blank contactid and assigns an id. These records will now
consistently appear in the database. Level 2 and Level 3 records are handled
as orphans (see below re orphans).
"Duplicate Records" -The program removes duplicates by assigning
a new contactid value.
"Orphans" - Orphans are attached to a blank record meaning
all fields except contactid are blank. This blank record is added to the
next higher level. Orphans may then be attached to their owner using the
TeleMagic reassign feature.
"Invalid Keys" - Records with invalid key (wrong length etc.)
are assigned a new key value and are treated as orphan records.
"Activity File Link" - The activity file is also updated to
conserve the link to records that have been assigned new keys.
"BHIorph Report" - A text file is created in the database
directory showing all of the totals - i.e. how many orphan records, how
many bad keys.
RemoveCR - removes all Carriage Returns from
a notepad. Lines that start with a Telemagic stamp (date, time and userid)
will start on a new line. All extra spaces and blank lines are also removed.
